Description

Sh2-241 is a seldom imaged emission nebula in the consellation Auriga (actually, between Auriga, Gemini, and Taurus).  The nebula is excited by the O9V star LS V +30 31. The nebula is a blister on the side of a molecular cloud at 5300 +/- 1100 parsecs.

This image represents about 10 hours total processed as HaR-HaG-HaB in a combination of MaxIM DL 5.04, Photoshop CS2, and PixInsight.
