Description

IC1470 (aka Sh 2-156) is a small reflection/emission nebula in the constellation Cassiopeia (actually on the Cephus/Cassiopeia border).  This nebula is illuminated by an OB7 star and lies about 6500 light years away.  An early paper discussing this nebula can be found here.  There are several other dimmer HII regions in this image.  An inverted image of this area is given below and serves to identify these regions.  Interestingly, there are also several dim galaxies behind these HII regions.

This image is an HaRGB image.  After seeing the data, it may be desireable to go back and get some long exposure Lum data to add to this to improve the details.
